Rheumatoid Arthritis: A chronic progressive disease causing inflammation in the joints.

We have a woman who is a regular client at ImageWorks.(: She comes in very loyally. I'd never had the chance to speak to Her before. But I had always noticed that She was in pain from Her hands. Turns out She has Rheumatoid Arthritis.! Today... I was given the opportunity to give this woman a small manicure while She was getting Her perm done. I was soooo nervous that I would rub Her hand too hard or in the wrong places and hurt Her. I was so scared. But once I got started She told Me where was hurting so that I could rub there during the massage and pretty much walked Me though it. I DID NOT let this client know that I was scared. I kept telling Myself I was fine, and just went with it.(: At the end... She was moving Her hands around alot and I asked Her if I had hurt Her and Her response was, "No one has ever given Me a massage before, I can move My hands. The muscles feel better. I can now drive so much better cause before My fingers wouldn't move very well." This melted My heart.(: You never realize that the simplest of things... Can make someone sooo happy.!!(: It made Me feel so wonderful having so much impact on someones life from something soo simple.(: (: (:
