On my own

I just recently graduated school, I couldn't be happier or sadder all at one time. While at school I made so many friends, so many memory's. I learned so much at Imageworks its hard to choose my favorite. All I do know is that while there i couldn't wait to get done and now that i'm done I want to go back! Its hard being on your own, building that clientele you thought you would while in school. I could have tried harder to get clientele, but i didn't. It's hard finding a place that will fit…See More

Length & layers

A girl came in wanting a new hair style but no length cut off. She had a straight across cut hair (basic square) when she came in, so I asked her what she was willing to do (what length to take off, if she wanted layers, and how she wanted it to look in the back). After consulting with her and letting her know what would look good with her round face shape, we decided to go with a round layers ( I left her one legth alone) and tapered to frame her face from her cheek down, adding a swoop fringe…See More

sun kissed highlights

For personal service day, thursday morning, I had one of our newest nail girls sitting in my chair, expecting me to do an all over color with a few highlights to make it look sunkissed. I had no reall idea of how to do the highlights so I went with what I felt would create what we wanted. She wanted her natural color or as close to as possable. So we did a 5N with a few slices through the top. I probably litterally did six slices through the top of her head and it turned out great. I took a…See More

perms

It had always been my understanding that a perm was the worst thing you could do for your hair. Now I realise that it is hard on your hair (like all things chemical are) but not as bad as I thought. I did my first actual perm on an older woman on our "senior day monday", with the help of a fellow classmate I got it done fairly quick. She wanted the grey rods used, for a smaller tighter curl. (which older women prefer) I was scared at first cause I didn't exactly know the mechanics of the perm…See More

From level 5 to 10?!

So about four weeks ago a girl came in wanting our help, she wanted to go from a medium brown to platnum blonde. (not an easy task and hard on your hair) She had been informed that this was imposable by other salons, so she came to us wanting us to take the steps to getting her to her the blond she wanted. I informed her of how hard this would be on her hair and with a few helfull suggestions from my instructor we decided on a full weave w/ heavy pieces of blond. I did three blond to every dark…See More

windows/ all over color

"I have also added a few photos where I did a fellow Imageworks girl for personal service day. We did an all over color (6R) and it turned out beautifull... I added longer layers and swoop fringe and she is rocken it everyday!"

Blow out

Nov. 3, 2010

After the hair cut, after the wash & rinse, we sit our clients back in our chair and start on the blow out. (blow drying the hair) This is one of the easiest and hardest things to do while styling. Everyone at our school knows how to round brush, Its an important step, and saves you extra time if done correctly. I like to get the hair dry to about 80% with my flat brush first. The reason being that it helps you train your clients hair/ or even your own hair to…

Refreshing color

11-03-2010

A woman came in today wanting a fresh color put on. ( same pattern just refreshing the color) She had some color blocks running around the back of her head and a few splices in front. (red) So I followed her pattern as best I could using the colors 2N all over and 6R with a 1/4 red kicker. First I had to bleach out where her old reds were so that the color app. I put on next would be brighter, after about 45 min.'s her blonds were orange but…
