Hair extensions

The other day we did some research on hair extensions durring class.  I did some further research at home and found this website, hairextesionsgeek.com.  I like it because it has reviews on the top hair extesions brands available.  It also has a lot of information on hair extensions from key words to look for when buying to how to care for them.  This is a website I would send my clients to if they wanted to do their own research and it's a site I will use to keep myself up-to-date with on the…See More

practical

I passed! I took my practical test yesterday and passed!! It was very hard and I was so scared. And taking the test was a joke. I cut my finger open and thought it was the end of  test. I though for sure I failed. But I guess I did a good job on the rest  of the test. I was so excited when I got  done, I pretty much just partied the rest of the day. I'm just one step closer to graduating!See More

Perming and relaxing

So today in class we talked about the process of how to do a relaxer, something that I think is the most important think before doing a relaxer is a test strand. We also talked about perming it is also really important to do test strands on people before perming cuz we don't want to leave our clients with no hair.

Body Language

We had a fantastic guest speaker today who taught us about body language. I found it very interesting to learn that body language is 56% of our communication. Also, body language is controlled by the subconscious. My favorite thing that we learned is that it's easy to change your mood just by consciously changing your body language. Because your stance changes, it sends a signal to your brain to rewire and send a positive message instead of a negative one. It was awesome!

Product Spotlight - Dove

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Detangler is the newest product on my shelf. I have a lot of really fine, really long hair. Being that way makes it tangle really easily. I have tried a lot of different detangling and smoothing sprays and serums. So far, I like the Dove Detangler the best.

I love that the Dove spray is weightless, so my hair doesn't feel heavy or weighed down when I spray it on. It doesn't leave it feeling greasy or oily when it dries. The smell is not my most favorite out of…

Lighter for Spring

I love the springtime! It's getting lighter and brighter and warmer! With the seasons changing, it's time to bring hair colors from dark and dull to light and luxurious! I love how easy it is to add just a few highlights and brighten up any hair color. I was able to add a strip weave to one of my clients today. Her hair was a pretty medium brown and the highlights brightened up her whole face. I'm so excited to be able to offer this to clients in the future!
